growing pains

with any new adventure PAINS are a sure thing. Some pains you do not want and some pains are good pains as the solution to them helps you to move ahead in your plans. i have got an issue now that is classic business 101. we have great clients with good list of projects and need to grow but the talent in this city SUCKS. no kidding. I don’t know what it is. Actually, let me correct myself. The talent is there, but attitude, work ethic, client care -> just plain give a s**t is not there. An old friend of mine used to say “the attention to details make or break you in business” and i live by that.

Everyone wants to be a “consultant”, “account manager” or my fav “CRM – customer relationship manager” yet no one wants to be THE BEST coder, THE BEST designer, THE BEST QA or the TEST PM.

Client management is not a easy role to fill. I do that. Its my company and i have to most to lose if a client is unhappy. Also, client management is not a sales role. The job is NOT to always upsell but to really care about how to make the client job easier by working with our firm. Think of ways to help make the client look really good for making the choice to use our firm over all the the firms in town.

PS: if you want to be the BEST CODER, DESIGNER, TESTER and PM in the hottest new startup, email me at sbala@bluebandmedia.com.

Sorry, account management position is filled.
